The M1 Garand: the rifle that helped win WWII and still a favorite of collectors, competitors, shooters, and hunters today. The beauty of the M1 Garand is that while they are classic icons of a bygone era, they can still be found in great numbers and at reasonable prices. What that means to us is that the M1 Garand is a rifle that’s just begging to be tinkered with, modified, and refined. Whether you want to restore your rifle to the condition it was the day it left the factory, or you want to modify it into something truly unique, Shuff’s has an option for you. Check the ordering page for return shipping rates.
If your rifle just needs a simple refinishing, then consider a parkerizing job. Parkerizing for a complete M1 is $125, but a la carte pricing is also available for individual parts. See the parkerizing price list for details.

For your M1 to truly be restored to its original state, you may want to add a reproduction cartouche, or inspector’s stamp, to your rifle’s stock. Details.

Most surplus Garands have a trigger pull weight of between 6 and 6.5 lbs. The final stage of the trigger pull is weighty and long. The Shuff’s trigger job will lengthen the first stage and create a very crisp and short second stage ending at a very noticeable “wall”. This “wall” will break crisp and clean at around 5 lbs for a much more controllable shot. The sear on your trigger must be in good condition in order for this to work.

If your M1 is in need of a barrel replacement, I can provide a brand new Criterion .30-06 or .308 barrel (not sold separately) for $175 plus $70 for installation. Or you can send just your barreled receiver (barrel, stripped receiver, stripped bolt, and stripped gas cylinder) and the installation is only $50. If you have your own barrel, I can install that for you, or I can re-crown your old one. And if you want something really unique, I can install one of my .35 Whelen barrels on your rifle for $395.

Love your Garand, but wish it had the handling characteristics of a carbine? The Mini-G conversion gives you the best of both worlds. Details.

Everybody loves the “ping” sound of an enbloc clip ejecting, but let’s face it; 8 rounds isn’t much to work with by today’s standards. I can convert your Garand to accept M-14 magazines, and rebarrel it for .308 so you get the quality of a GI receiver and the function of a slightly more modern rifle. Details.

The M1D mod is one of the coolest modifications you can do to an M1 Garand. Originals cost in excess of $4000 but I can make you an outstanding replica for far less. You provide the rifle and conversion parts and I’ll make the necessary modifications. Details.
